Note From the Chair
[[link removed]] Friend,
April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. As you know, nothing we do works without the support of IDP’s volunteers, whether that’s helping us answer phones at IDP HQ or knocking on doors for a Democratic campaign near you. Volunteers are the backbone of IDP and the lifeblood of strong Democratic campaigns.
That’s why this Volunteer Appreciation Month, we’re celebrating by sharing some of the many opportunities we have for you to get involved with IDP and Democratic campaigns in every corner of the state. In addition to the opportunities I’ll list for you below, there are so many more that you can find on our online event calendar, from knocking on doors to making calls for candidates – whatever method of volunteering is up your alley, we’ve got you covered.
While money is a critical resource for campaigns and IDP to have, we can’t emphasize enough how important it is for people to donate time as well. Time is the only resource that we can’t save up, nor get back once it’s gone; so when you donate your time, you’re giving Democratic campaigns the most valuable resource you can offer. I hope you’ll join me in donating your time this Volunteer Appreciation Month.
Yours,
Rita Hart
Chair of the Iowa Democratic Party

But House Democrats knew better as a bill to take away funding to AEAs sailed through both chambers led by Republicans. They didn’t listen to Iowans and they never cared what Iowa students, parents or teachers had to say.
