Is Abortion Just a States' Issue? |
by Jared Bridges |
For the media, abortion is the wedge issue supreme and will give them fodder for animated discussion all the way through November. For pro-abortion activists, and the Democratic Party alike, the Arizona Supreme Court decision is an opportunity to motivate their electoral base to action in light of an incumbent president who is drooping in the polls. For pro-lifers, this is an opportunity for real change in the wake of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health decision ending the decades of violence brought about by Roe v. Wade. But an issue like this isn't unique in American history. |

'Remarkably Weak Evidence': Groundbreaking U.K. Report Slams Puberty Blockers |
by Ben Johnson |
A wide-ranging overview of the transgender medical treatment for minors, conducted over four years by a world-renowned pediatric specialist, found "no evidence that gender-affirmative treatments reduce" suicide, "remarkably weak evidence" for the use of puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones for youth who identify as transgender, and no reason to believe that childhood feelings of transgenderism predict whether anyone will experience "longstanding gender dysphoria in the future." But "toxic" discourse and "point-scoring" have made it impossible to serve children's best interests. |

Idaho Governor Signs Bills Defining 'Man' and 'Woman' and Barring Pronoun Requirements |
by Sarah Holliday |
House Bill 538 was signed on Monday, which stipulates that schools cannot require staff or students to use preferred pronouns or names. The second, signed on Tuesday, was House Bill 421. It states, "In human beings, there are two, and only two, sexes: male and female. In no case is an individual's sex determined by stipulation or self-identification." Most notably, in addition to ruling that sex and gender were synonymous, this bill "codifies in state law biological definitions for 'woman,' 'man,' and other sex-based terms, making [Idaho] the fifth to exclude men who identify as women from being legally recognized as female." |

Outstanding - Ep. 88: Solar Eclipse - Doomsday or Intentional Design? |
Podcast with Joseph Backholm and Jay Richards |
On April 8th, 2024, a total eclipse graced a portion of the North American skies, completely blocking out the sun for 4 minutes and 28 seconds. Many gazed up at the sun (with their solar eclipse approved sunglasses of course) with awe and wonder, but a surprising number of people were fearful, believing this scientific phenomenon to be a sign of the end of the world. Host Joseph Backholm is joined by Jay Richards, co-author of The Privileged Planet, for an honest discussion of the meaning of an eclipse and how to think biblically about it. A long-time eclipse tracker, Jay shares his knowledge of what causes an eclipse and how this unique solar experience is evidence of an intentional Creator. Order never comes from chaos without intelligence, join us for evidence and education on solar eclipses. |

'Terrorism Will Take Place': Pompeo Warns of Threat to National Security without FISA |
by Dan Hart |
On Wednesday, a group of Republican hardliners in the House broke from the GOP majority and blocked a procedural vote from going forward to renew the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and numerous Republican lawmakers say that while FISA is in need of reform to protect citizens against government overreach, it is also a critical tool in maintaining national security. |

Canadian Doctor Amputates Healthy Fingers of Man with Body Integrity Dysphoria |
by Joshua Arnold |
In "the first described [case] about digits amputation," Canadian doctors surgically removed two healthy fingers from a young man experiencing "body integrity dysphoria" (BID). The sad, bizarre account, published March 27 in the open-access journal Clinical Case Reports, is linked to surgical interventions for gender dysphoria. This similar yet distinct case underscores the dangers of gender ideology from a slightly different vantage point, one which circumvents the deceptive veil of civil rights language which conceals the harms of gender transition procedures. |
