Dear John,
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently unveiled new emissions standards for light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. These new standards will spur the sale of clean vehicles, leading to vast economic, climate, and public health benefits across the U.S.
Starting in Model Year 2027, the new EPA standards will encourage an accelerated shift to cleaner cars and trucks. These national standards will dramatically reduce emissions from transportation, the nation’s leading source of climate pollution.
With these standards in place, the Biden administration has taken an ambitious and durable step toward achieving national climate goals and improving air quality for millions of people living near highways and freight routes-while also meeting the needs of manufacturers, fleet owners, workers, and consumers.
Read more about the new EPA emissions standards for both light- and medium-duty vehicles and heavy-duty vehicles below. |
Through the Ceres Corporate Electric Vehicle Alliance and the Ceres Ambition 2030 initiative, we will continue to work with investors, companies and policymakers to support and defend the rule to ensure a smooth, accelerated transition toa clean transportation economy. |
Thank you,
