** Nominate a Better Transport Hero
------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Supporter
As part of this year's Better Transport Week, we want to celebrate people who have accidentally inspired us to make better transport choices. Whilst we're campaigning in parliament, there are hundreds and thousands of people doing incredible things in their local communities, and it's these people we want to shine a spotlight on.
They aren't the loud heralds of change, but their quiet, consistent actions are just as impactful. They inspire each of us to walk, run, bus, train or cycle around our cities, towns and villages.
Does this sound like someone you know or even yourself?

** Who can I nominate?
------------------------------------------------------------
It could be the individual you got to know on your local bus route whose stories and quirky facts along the journey put a smile on your face for the rest of the day. It might be that local hero who has helped to keep a bus route going or get a cycle lane agreed.
Or, it could be you? Do you hop on your bike come rain or shine? Opt to get the train over driving? Or have you brought the community together to start a walking bus for local children?
Without realising it, all of these actions (big and small) have had an impact on encouraging more people to make better choices.
We believe that within your community and networks, there are many such stories of accidental inspiration waiting to be told.
So we would like to ask you today to nominate either yourself or someone you know as a Better Transport Hero. Whether it's a friend who favours footpaths over fuel or a colleague who's made public transport their choice for the daily commute, all of these stories deserve to be celebrated.

Deadline: All nominations must be submitted before 23:59pm on 30th April 2024.
** Why are we doing this?
------------------------------------------------------------
Because every story we share is a step towards normalising better transport. Through this initiative, we aim to highlight how small, everyday choices can inspire many more, leading to significant environmental impacts. It's about showcasing that sustainability isn't just for the few; it's accessible to all, often in ways we might not even realise.
** What happens next?
------------------------------------------------------------
Once we've received all the nominations, we'll go through each one to uncover the most inspiring people and stories for us to celebrate. We will need to give you a call, as anecdotes often come to life face to face (or phone to phone in this case!). If you've nominated someone else, we'll call you to check whether they know, and if they're happy for you to pass on their details for us to have a chat.
Our chosen heroes' stories will then be celebrated as part of Better Transport Week in June.
Thank you!
Jess and the rest of the Campaign for Better Transport team
