Nottingham Puppet Festival will be taking over the city streets tomorrow, for a day of amazing performances and parades from 11am-4pm. And the best thing is, it's all free!

You can see Mahogany Carnival Design’s spectacular costumes, watch Inspirate’s Ancient Giants in a battle between good and evil, enjoy beautiful storytelling at the Central Library, and get close up to By Our Hands’ handcrafted marionettes.

There's also a puppet trail from Sneinton Market, through the city centre, to Nottingham Central Library.

Based on the global phenomenon and winner of the Man Booker Prize, selling over 15 million copies worldwide, "Life of Pi" is the hugely popular story of an epic journey of endurance and hope. Don’t miss the West End and Broadway spectacle on its first ever UK tour.

After an epic storm in the Pacific Ocean, Pi is stranded on a lifeboat with four other survivors - a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, and a Royal Bengal tiger. Jaw-dropping visuals and world-class puppetry combine in a unique and ‘breath-taking’ ("The Times") theatrical event that is ‘a wonder to behold’ ("Daily Mail").

Nottingham Contemporary & Tram Line Spot

Hosted in partnership with Skate Nottingham, and supported by Skateboard GB, Samsung Flip Park lands in Nottingham this weekend.

Free events will take place at the Tram Line Spot and Nottingham Contemporary, including design and photography workshops, talks, yoga, coaching sessions, and a skate jam with the chance to win epic Samsung prizes! Renowned skaters will also be ripping at Tram Line Spot throughout the day.

The events are free and we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment, however limited walk-ins will be available on the day too.

Smithy Row

A unique city centre exhibition by young photographers, who have been mentored by former Young Creative Award winner and professional photographer, Lamar Francois.

Candid urban images taken by six participants, including YCA 2023 winner Deanna Gallacher, are showcased on Smithy Row.

The photographers went on a series of photo walks around the city, where Lamar highlighted opportunities amongst the busy streets and helped them capture, edit, and select the images they have now shared in the exhibition.

Ibiza Orchestra returns next month with a brand new Ibiza Sunset show!

The 26-piece orchestra will perform live, celebrating some of the greatest music from the white isle in the past 30 years, from artists such as Rudimental, Ian Van Dahl, Daft Punk, Robert Miles, Fatboy Slim, and Prodigy. Plus special guests *Professor Green* and* Phats & Small* will be joining the line-up.

The experience also features a silent disco stage, glitter artists, lasers, pyrotechnics, and fire breathers.

Nottingham Central Library's monthly music and performance event, Sound at Central, returns with programming supported by Nonsuch Studios.

An epic line-up of bands and artists take over the space as the bar and atrium-cum-dancefloor open for a cabaret night.

This month includes astounding local singer-songwriter Franklin Anslem, published poet and esteemed performer Sophie Sparham, rap-hip-hop-jazz fusion Local Healers, and more to be announced soon.

Illyria Theatre Company presents "Romeo & Juliet" as part of our Open-Air Theatre season this summer - suitable for all ages.

Shakespeare states in the opening lines of this play that we are going to see an explosive, swash-buckling romance. But the surprise he has in store for us is that it’s extremely funny too!

The Montagues and Capulets are at war with one another - but when Montague’s son gatecrashes Capulet’s party in disguise and falls in love with Capulet’s daughter, a chain-reaction of events is set in motion which has a devastating conclusion.

Wolfgang Flür is best known as the electro drummer of the German electronic band Kraftwerk between 1973 and 1986.

Since 2004, Flür has been DJ-ing worldwide at clubs and festivals, playing tech house, industry, and electro specialities of his own, Kraftwerk, and international artists.

His current stage performances show videos and rare images from his Kraftwerk past, shot to present projects and with added electro tunes for dancing.
