My hedge fund executive challenger just announced a massive $1.25 million fundraising haul. That’s unprecedented for a New Mexico Republican Senate candidate in the first quarter of an election year.

Mitch McConnell and his allies’ strategy to recruit multi-millionaire candidates in the fight for the Senate Majority is clearly paying off. The GOP’s top mega-donors will see this as a sign to start pouring in millions of dollars, and we could see ads flooding the airwaves with misleading attacks at any moment.

I am committed to delivering lasting results for New Mexico — including growing rural economies, reducing costs by negotiating prescription drug prices and eliminating junk fees, raising workers’ wages, passing the child tax credit, and growing access to clean energy manufacturing jobs.

But my opponent has stayed silent on critical issues that impact everyday New Mexicans. Donald Trump, who’s set on flipping New Mexico, appears to be setting the Senate GOP’s agenda — years after losing the presidency.

That means we can expect a Republican Senate Majority to sell our public lands to the highest bidder, attack reproductive rights, and hand out tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy and corporations.
