Republicans are all out for Michigan and, specifically, my district. They don’t like how we’re giving voters a new choice.
It’s why Mike Pence and Betsy DeVos held a Republican Revival in Grand Rapids the week after I was sworn in. It’s why Trump made a stop in Grand Rapids last week. It’s why Republicans are investing millions in races across Michigan, and it’s why they placed me on their top target list immediately after I won.
For decades, the ultra-wealthy in West Michigan have controlled politics – influencing gerrymandering, funding extremist groups at the Capitol, and working to restrict women’s reproductive choices.
But we changed the course of who can win here.
In 2022, we made history by electing the first pro-choice woman to represent West Michigan. A social worker. A mom. A Christian public interest attorney. At first, no one took me seriously because I didn’t come from a political dynasty and didn’t have a trust fund to back my campaign. But with sustained grassroots support, we flipped a 50-year Republican stronghold.
The Republicans are Big Mad. They want to stop me before I get even more momentum and keep me a one-term Congresswoman. But we won’t let them.
