There are more than 250,000 Vote Forward letter writers across the country, and our team hears incredible stories from this community every day. Every so often, we like to share one with you in hopes that you’ll find it as inspiring as we do.

Molly P. is a Vote Forward letter writer based in Maine, and this year, she’s planning to write 1,000 letters to voters across the country!

The “danger of losing our democracy” is what brought Molly to Vote Forward originally. “Voting should be easy for every single American. I care about what happens in our country and know that doing something to help is helping me, too.”

As a long-time letter writer, Molly says that several things keep her coming back to Vote Forward year after year: the simplicity of letter writing, the encouragement of family and friends (and their contributions to helping her buy postage), and ultimately, the hope that more Americans will exercise their fundamental right to simply make their voices heard.

This year, Molly received a Vote Forward Stamp Grant to help her meet her 1,000 letter goal. You can help provide free postage and letter writing supplies to fellow volunteers with ambitious goals like Molly’s—and volunteers who would like to participate but would be otherwise unable due to logistical or financial barriers—by making a contribution to the Vote Forward Letter Kits fund.
