Other goods & services news
Purchasers can more easily find vendors on statewide contracts
DES has made it easier for purchasers to find small, certified veteran and OMWBE-certified businesses on our statewide contracts.
When you visit the contract summary page for the good or service you need to buy, click the link at the top of the page that says: "See vendors on this contract and their certifications." This link takes you to the vendor list that you can sort by certification type, preferences or award type.
This feature makes it easier for state agencies to meet their supplier diversity goals. It's part of our ongoing commitment to support Washington state small, veteran-owned and OMWBE-certified businesses.
Green purchasing specifications available on DES website
DES posted updated green purchasing specifications for procurement and purchasing staff on our website. You can find them by category, and each product-specific specification includes policies, laws and third-party environmental certifications and standards.
Purchasers can copy and paste the specifications into solicitations as mandatory bid or purchasing requirements, price preferences, and additional desirable best value attributes. Purchasers can also refer to these specifications to guide purchasing decisions.
