Early on, my parents taught me that some things are always worth fighting for — no matter the opposition.
My dad helped found the first integrated law firm in North Carolina. He and his partners fought against discrimination and for equality. They kept up that fight even after extremists firebombed their office, burning it to the ground.
Today, we’re once again at a crossroads. Extremists in North Carolina and across the country are threatening the values we hold most dear.
Mark Robinson – a conspiracy theorist and far-right extremist – is the GOP nominee for Governor. He’s pushing for a total ban on abortion, promising to further strip funding for public schools, and threatening North Carolinians’ voting rights.
He’s also touted dangerous conspiracy theories: calling a school shooting survivor a “paid actor,” questioning whether 9/11 was an inside job, and claiming the Holocaust was “hogwash.”
Mark Robinson is one of the most extreme statewide-elected Republicans in the country – and yet polls show us statistically TIED. The National GOP knows North Carolina is its top pickup opportunity, and they’re starting to flood money into our state to back Robinson.

I’ve spent the past 25 years serving North Carolina. I’ve advocated for consumers mistreated by predatory corporations, worked to keep communities and families safe, and defended reproductive and voting rights.
North Carolina is home. My wife Anna and I both grew up here. We raised our three kids here. They all went to North Carolina public schools, just like Anna and I did. I love this state, and think it’s the best place to live, work, and raise a family.
