News from Representative Allred

Dear Friend,

Today, I had the honor of attending a Joint Meeting of Congress with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, and I was proud to invite Dallas Regional Chamber CEO and President Dale Petroskey along as my guest. The United States has a strong diplomatic and economic relationship with Japan, and North Texas specifically is home to so many Japanese companies.

Japan has long been a key diplomatic ally of the United States and is one of our largest trading partners and sources of foreign direct investment. Japanese companies have been locating and investing in Dallas and across Texas for years, helping us create jobs and strengthen our economy. This growth wouldn’t be possible without groups like the Dallas Regional Chamber, and that’s why I was proud to host Mr. Petroskey as my guest in Washington today.

“The economic and cultural ties between Japan and the U.S., and specifically Texas, are enormous,” Mr. Petroskey said about the visit. “As a former Chief of Staff on Capitol Hill, I realize what a special honor it is to be invited to a Joint Meeting of Congress. I appreciate Congressman Allred inviting me to such an important moment that affects the important partnership between the Texas business community and Japan. The Dallas Regional Chamber is excited to continue the important work with Congressman Allred that needs to be done to boost trade and grow our economy.”

Earlier this week, I also met with the Texas Association of Business in Washington. We discussed important issues impacting Texas businesses like trade, transportation and infrastructure.

I was proud to highlight the leading role Texas plays in our nation’s economic partnership with Japan. I will always be a partner to the Texas business community and work in a bipartisan way to create jobs and grow our economy.

Sincerely,
