This week, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld a near-total ban on abortion that was written in 1864, ruling that the 160-year-old law from before Arizona was even a state is both legal and enforceable.

This adds Arizona to the growing list of states across the nation where access to abortion and other forms of reproductive health care is illegal, severely restricted or actively under serious threat — a cruel reality only made possible by Donald Trump's Supreme Court justices overturning Roe v. Wade.

Make no mistake about it: Trump continues to say he's proud of his role in overturning Roe, even while trying to run away from his record on abortion out on the campaign trail.

Reproductive health care and women's rights are not safe if Trump gets anywhere near the White House ever again, especially if Republicans manage to take back this Senate later this year.

That's why I've introduced legislation to protect assisted reproductive technologies like IVF, and why we need to enshrine the protections of Roe into federal law.

In order to that, Democrats MUST hold onto the White House and our razor-thin majority in the Senate this November. So please:

Can you urgently add your first contribution — of $5 or any amount — to help power our campaign's efforts to defeat Donald Trump and elect as many pro-choice Democrats as possible here in 2024? Anything you can chip in means a lot.

I've repeatedly sounded the alarm on this issue: Republican attacks on women's rights and reproductive health care is about so much more than abortion. Restoring this Civil War-era law in Arizona is just the latest in a long line of Republican attempts to plunge our country back to a time that should be left far in the past.

Thank you for being a part of our efforts to stop them.
