John, more bombs and more billions in funding for Israel should NOT be on the table as President Biden and Congress consider policy in Gaza. Tens of thousands of Palestinians and at least 200 aid workers have already been killed.
It’s flat out immoral and hypocritical to recognize the horrific situation in Gaza and then still send more bombs to Israel, like President Biden is doing. Bernie didn’t hesitate to make that point on Pod Save America:
There’s still time for Biden to reverse his decision to send 3,800 more bombs to Israel. We must amplify Bernie’s calls to stop more American-made bombs from falling in Gaza. We cannot allow more U.S. taxpayer money to support Netanyahu’s atrocities against the Palestinian people.
Stand with Bernie: Stop sending weapons to Israel and no more U.S. taxpayer funding for the horrific war on the Palestinian people!
After 7 World Central Kitchen aid workers were killed by the Israeli military, Netanyahu (under immense international pressure) agreed to loosen restrictions on humanitarian aid to Gaza. But given Israel’s consistent blockade of food, water, and medical aid, this is just a first step that must be closely monitored — and Bernie was quick to remind President Biden about that.
“A significant majority of the American people now believe that Israel should not receive additional U.S. military aid,” Bernie said. It’s a moral and political failing to send Israel more weapons. So, why is President Biden doing it while speaking out for more humanitarian aid?
If Biden doesn’t change his immoral and misguided policies in Gaza, more civilians and aid workers will die, and he’s risking losing the election in November to Trump.
Add your name: Tell Biden that more weapons and funding for Israel is unacceptable and immoral. His policies on Gaza must change!
