Even in 2024, big polluters are constantly trying to roll back critical
protections for our health, safety, and environment — but Rob is on it.

Republican-controlled states and polluters are suing the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) over their new rule issuing stronger limits to
fine particulate matter AKA soot. In response, Rob filed a motion to stand
with the EPA and defend these improved air quality standards.

Elevated levels of soot in the air cause serious health effects —
including heart and lung disease, asthma, and premature death — especially
for communities of color, children, seniors, and other vulnerable groups.

Not only do stronger air quality standards better protect our environment
and public health, but studies show they help rather than hurt our economy
too.

Rob is also supporting the EPA’s proposed rule to list nine PFAS compounds
as hazardous, so California and other states can better combat the release
of these forever chemicals into our air, water, and soil. These toxic
substances are widely used in the production of countless household items,
and they pose a grave threat to our health and environment.
