Dear John,
It’s time for President Biden to get tough with Netanyahu.
The indiscriminate killing of civilians in Gaza must end.
Look, I’m Jewish. I know what it’s like to have family members brazenly murdered because of their beliefs and ethnicity. I detest Hamas and the inhumanity it wrought during its horrific October 7th terror attack.
But the Israeli government also deserves condemnation for killing over 30,000 Palestinians living in Gaza, many of whom were children.
As the United States continues to transfer weapons to Israel, our nation is complicit in this worsening tragedy. In supplying more military aid, we are relieving Israel of any strategic or moral responsibility to find an alternative to the horrific course it’s on.

Now, I believe that President Biden genuinely wants the carnage in Gaza to end. As of last week, he has threatened to condition future U.S. military support on Israel taking steps to protect civilians and allow aid to the region.
Biden must use his power to make good on that ultimatum.
Americans are no longer willing to provide unconditional support to the Israeli government as it kills or starves ever more Palestinians. As I explain in our video, there comes a time when America must stand up to our closest allies when those allies are in the wrong.
I believe that time is now.
