The Democratic Party

Samuel --
Donald Trump read a speech off a teleprompter on Tuesday night without raising his
voice, declaring the media the enemy of state, or bragging about sexual assault -- so
Republicans and political pundits declared him "presidential."
That's absurd.
His joint address to Congress, like every other time Donald has opened his mouth to
speak, was filled with divisive rhetoric, lies, and hypocrisy. And while he said a lot of
things that had cable news talking heads swooning, his actions in his first 40 days in
office do not reflect the promises he made to the American people.
He said he wants to work with members of Congress to make child care accessible
and affordable, but just last week military families stationed overseas lost their child
care because of his hiring freeze.
He claimed he wants to invest in women's health, but he and the congressional
Republicans who applauded him are hell-bent on dismantling the Affordable Care
Act and defunding Planned Parenthood.
He said he wants to promote clean air and clean water, but earlier that very same day,
he began to roll back parts of the Clean Water Act that protect freshwater streams,
wetlands, and sources of drinking water. (Great news for polluters and golf course
owners -- not so much for those of us who need to drink water to stay alive.)
While Republicans might have been fooled by Donald's performance, Samuel, we
certainly weren't. We see right through him and his lies -- and we are going to
call him out every single time his actions don't match his words.
