Democratic Attorney General Kristin Mayes of Arizona announced on Tuesday that she would not enforce a ruling from her state’s supreme court upholding an 1864 law that bans most abortions. On Tuesday, the Arizona Supreme Court ruled that a law criminalizing abortions, except in cases where necessary to save the mother’s life, may be enforced following the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization in 2022, which ruled that there is no constitutional right to an abortion. Mayes, one of the named parties in the case, subsequently issued a statement on X condemning the decision while claiming that her prosecutors would not enforce the law against doctors and women seeking abortions.

NOTABLE QUOTES

Steve McCann contributor to American Thinker: A nation without honor and an attendant fealty to duty is a nation without a future. Today the United States finds itself in a quagmire of ever-increasing self-doubt and foreboding. Chief among the factors that have brought America to this point has been the abandonment of an intuitive knowledge of what is right, just, and true as it relates to the duty imposed by conscience. Honor is being discarded and replaced by duplicity, avarice, self-aggrandizement, cowardice, and an unbridled lust for power and notoriety.

Dr. Joseph Sansone Substack: It does not appear that those running American foreign policy have the national interests of the United States in mind at all. If the purpose is to topple the United States by overextending its military resources and financially bankrupting it, and allowing a foreign invasion of its borders, then the plan is being executed well. Whoever has captured the U.S. government is totally insane and willing to create global chaos as well as domestic chaos, and apparently, start a world war.
