Dear John,
Hello, my name is Caitlin Nagy, and I want to start my letter by thanking you for sharing World Parkinson's Day with me today. You may remember hearing my story in the past. I reached out to you from a place of hope, despite the challenges of living with Young Onset Parkinson's. Today, I'm reaching out again, not just to share the strides I've made but to invite you to share a Parkinson's journey too.
Sharing your story or a story of someone you know with Parkinson's can show that hopeful journeys are still possible. Share a story today.
Living with Parkinson's is a journey of constant adaptation, discovery, and, above all, resilience. Since my last letter to the Parkinson Canada community, my life has been a whirlwind of change, growth, and profound learning. I became a mother, a title I cherish more than any other. I embraced my role as a creative director and entrepreneur and even celebrated releasing a book. Through it all, my journey with Parkinson's has been a guiding thread, shaping my experiences and outlook.
My diagnosis at 31 felt like an insurmountable obstacle. The tremors, the uncertainty, and the fear seemed like barriers to the life I wanted to live. Yet, here I am, years later, finding strength I never knew I had, and learning that resilience is still possible.
But my journey is just one of many. Each of us has a story filled with challenges, triumphs, and moments of unexpected joy. That's why, on this World Parkinson's Day, I'm inviting you to share your story or the story of someone you care about who is navigating life with Parkinson's.
Your experiences, whether you are a care provider or someone living with Parkinson's, can offer comfort, education, and empowerment to individuals across Canada. By sharing, your real-life experiences become a powerful message: You are not alone.

As I reflect on my journey, I'm reminded of the power of sharing. It's not just about opening up; it's about connecting on a deeper level and fostering a community of support and understanding.
All of our Parkinson's stories have the power to inspire, to heal, and to bring us together. Let's show the world that even with Parkinson's, living a fulfilling, empowered life is still possible.
With gratitude and hope,
Caitlin Nagy
