John, Are you packing your bags for the VAYD Convention? Do you have your outfit planned for Blue Victory? Can you feel Election season roaring to life? I hope your canvassing shoes and your dancing shoes are ready for April; mine are! If you’re not in the election season spirit yet, you will be at our General Body meeting on April 16th when we, along with the ArlDems, are hosting the School Board Forum debate. Come hear from all of the candidates running for the school board endorsement!
I don’t know about you, but the eclipse got me, like, really aware we live on a planet and feeling lots of ways about it. So I’ll be attending the AYD Earth Day Happy Hour at Highline RxR on the 23rd to meet with other planet-loving Young Dems; you should join us and talk about Earth and Earth-related issues! Enjoy the weather! ~Samantha

Arlington Democrats School Board Endorsement Vote This year, there will be two open seats for the Arlington County School Board.
The Arlington Democrats will hold a vote of Democratic community members to endorse two candidates for the November General Election ballot. This endorsement vote process is in lieu of a primary because School Board candidates are not listed by Party on the ballot in Arlington.
There are four candidates campaigning for the party’s endorsement this year. Arlington Democrats will tally the winners of the endorsement vote by Ranked Choice Voting.
More information about the School Board Endorsement Vote, and how to participate, can be found at www.arlingtondemocrats.org/sbev2024. |
It's time to select our Delegates!
Now that the 2024 Democratic Primaries are over for Virginia, it is time to select delegates to represent Democrats at various conventions. Calls have been set out for those who wish to be a delegate at the district, state, and national levels.
Per the 2024 DPVA Delegate Selection Plan, Arlington can send up to 69 delegates to the 8th Congressional District Convention, with 8 going to the DNC in Chicago from the 8th District.
Additional at-large level delegates will be selected at the DPVA Convention, located in Richmond, in June.
More information about the delegate selection process can be found at: vademocrats.org/delegateselection .
