I am so grateful for every person who has contributed to this campaign in ways too many to count - including financial contributions during the first fundraising quarter of 2020. With everything going on in our world, and with so much need, I did not focus on this week's reporting deadline as I usually do. But you did. And because of you, we once again reached our fundraising goal--a milestone important to building the campaign we will need to win again in November.

While my focus lately has been on doing my job, rather than campaigning for it, we have seen all too vividly in the last weeks and months how much elections matter. Here in Houston, we have seen tough times, and we have seen what we can accomplish when we work together. Then, as now, we have seen how much leadership matters.

Who we elect in November--at every level of government--will lead us through a challenging and uncertain time. I am grateful for your confidence in me to serve our country in the Congress. Your active support, your generous contributions make it possible for me to focus on serving our community and our country and for our campaign team to keep working toward election day in November. Thank you.

Even in these difficult times, I still believe that, together, we can do anything.
