Hi there John,
I hope your week is going well. I’m back in your inbox to introduce re:power’s next alumni champion for the re:powering our champions annual campaign: Tim Phan (he/him)! This year, we’re working to raise $100,000 to prepare progressives like Tim for the path to victory, but we need your support, John.

“The first time I trained with re:power was in 2017 when it was still Wellstone! I had been invited by my friend Arianna Trujillo Wesler to assist as a coach in a workshop called ‘Building Power and Changing Landscapes through Racial Equity in Data.’ We flew to Milwaukee to support advocates who wanted to level up their understanding of analytics and movement technology.
While I’ve dabbled in many types of electoral and organizing spaces since that first moment, I will always be thankful to Ari and the re:power community for showing me what the work truly looked like. re:power’s most impactful work to me is building a higher level of racial solidarity among communities fighting for liberation on issues that stretched far beyond the narrow timelines and political constraints of electoral cycles. ”
- Tim Phan, re:power Movement Technology Champion
[[link removed]] Tim Phan is a data analyst based in Los Angeles who specializes in electoral spaces for progressive candidates and causes (with an emphasis on GIS maps in R). He’s worked for several Democratic Party organizations throughout his career, but is most passionate in supporting immigrant rights / racial justice spaces working towards abolition. He enjoys electronic music concerts, science fiction, and DJ-ing in his spare time.
re:power aims to train 2,900 candidates, activists, and organizers like Tim to brave the political landscape in 2024. We take our commitment to creating BIPOC progressive champions seriously: that’s why we need a championship mentality and $100,000 to support our programs . Will you help us turn changemakers like Tim into champions for progressive change John? Click the button below and donate today.

We’re excited to share more about Tim’s re:power story and his organizing work throughout our annual campaign. I’ll be in touch again soon to introduce our final alumni champion. Stay tuned!
In Solidarity,
