Friends, I hope this email finds you well.

We just gaveled out of session here at the state legislature in Phoenix, and I wanted to take a moment to update you on a critical issue that we are facing right here in Arizona.

The fundamental right to bodily autonomy is under attack, and it is up to us to fight back. Just yesterday, the GOP justices on the Arizona Supreme Court upheld a ban on abortion that predates our state and goes all the way back to the civil war.

I knew we needed to act, that’s why I introduced the bill to repeal the 1864 ban, which would have reversed that decision immediately, and protected abortion access in Arizona.

But Republicans decided to double down on this ban that dates back to 1864, and it is clear they have no intention of letting go of their grip on power. We cannot let them succeed. We need to flip the legislature, enshrine abortion access in our state constitution, and stop Republicans from taking away this right ever again.

So I wanted to reach out directly to ask today: Will you split a contribution between the Arizona Democratic Party and the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (ADLCC) to help us flip this legislature blue? [[link removed]]

Protecting the right to seek an abortion will be absolutely critical over the next few months. We have seen attacks from the right popping up in states across the US, and Republicans have called for a national abortion ban. We cannot let this happen. We need to cement Arizonans' right to make their own decisions about their bodies.

Let me be clear: the Arizona GOP is extreme and does not represent the majority of Arizonans. They are working hand in hand with Donald Trump and the extreme right to corrupt our democracy. We cannot allow them to undermine our values and take away our rights.

The stakes have never been higher, friend. Arizona will be the nation's top battleground state in 2024. Victory is possible — just four seats stand between us and a pro-choice legislature.
