Dear John,
Tomorrow I begin my last campaign swing. In New Mexico and Oregon and then in Maryland [[link removed]] , I’ll once again articulate the foundations of a new beginning for the United States.

There are people who don’t want a new beginning in America, because the system as it is works fine for them. Yet it does not work fine for the majority of Americans. According to the Declaration of Independence, governments are instituted to secure our inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. With 39% of Americans skipping meals in order to pay their rent, we’ve clearly wandered far from that goal.
This campaign has a powerful message: that we can do better. We shouted from the rooftops that a new beginning is possible. That we can course-correct. And I believe with all my heart that somehow we will.
I will be thinking of all my supporters as I make this final journey of the campaign. I will be thinking of the almost half a million voters who have already cast their ballot for me. I will do my very best to inspire, to motivate, and to encourage those who hear me to keep on keeping on. To keep their eye on the prize. To love the possibilities of American democracy that nothing will ever deter us from serving its ideal. Other generations got there. And so will we.
