In 2017, Donald Trump was president, and Republicans held majorities in the House and Senate.

In the dead of night, the week before Christmas 2017, Republican senators invited corporate lobbyists to contribute to sections of Trump’s tax scam bill and passed it on a party-line vote.

The Trump-Republican tax law added trillions to the deficit, with most of the benefits going to a tiny sliver of the very wealthiest individuals and corporations in this country.

Those tax cuts are coming due for renewal in the next four years, and that’s all his MAGA mega-donors care about.

The message at Trump’s Palm Beach fundraiser was clear: Support my campaign, and I’ll extend your tax cuts.
