Hi John,
As you may have heard, another devastating blow to reproductive rights was handed down in Arizona yesterday when the State Supreme Court ruled in favor of a 160-year-old law to ban abortion in with practically no exception.
Today, Republicans across the country, including Donald Trump, are in damage-control mode as they try to distance themselves from this widely condemned decision.
But make no mistake about it, John: We are here because of Donald Trump and the Republican Party, and we cannot allow them to rewrite history. They made it their mission to ban abortion access across the country, imperiling the lives and futures of countless women, and now they must own the fallout.
Having served on the board of our local Planned Parenthood affiliate, I was proud to be a part of the team that made our county the first in the nation to offer medication abortion. I also know how important protecting a woman's right to choose is because when I needed to, I was able to make the choice to have an abortion and decided my own future. As your representative, I won't just fight tooth and nail to restore Roe v. Wade when I get to Washington; I will fight to ensure that access to abortion care is made a universal right and reproductive health care is attainable for all.
