Labor Matinee: Unrest

This Saturday, 4/13

12NOON

 Grand Illusion Cinema

1403 NE 50th St
RSVP

Join Seattle DSA and UAW 4121 for a screening of Unrest at the Grand Illusion Cinema! The quiet countryside of 19th century Switzerland conceals the complex movements of labor and capital, as a young Pyotr Kropotkin meets the anarchists among the local workers. Far from the factory floors, dark mines, or open fields generally shown in labor films, the workshops of the watchmakers give us a look at a unique sort of workplace — even if the issues are all too familiar.

Enjoy some free popcorn!

Suggested donation: $5 (no one turned away for lack of funds)

Seattle DSA Social! (University District)

This Saturday, 4/13

2pm

Big Time Brewery

4133 University Way NE

Working to create socialism is sometimes … well, a lot of work! If it’s all rallies and meetings and spreadsheets, it can turn into a drag real quick. We think it’s important to have some time to just simply get to know each other, connect over food and drinks, and have fun together — that’s what this social is for! No big speeches, no business, just time to connect with other leftists.

Note — this event is right after a film screening at the nearby Grand Illusion Cinema — we encourage you to attend both!

SEATTLE DSA BUSINESS MEETING

Tuesday, April 23 7 - 9pm
RSVP

Our next chapter meeting is in two weeks! We will be deliberating a resolution to endorse Shaun Scott as a DSA representative on Tuesday, April 23!

Our monthly meetings are where Seattle DSA members congregate to discuss politics and deliberate chapter business. The working class needs political democracy in order to win socialism, and the first step to take is organizing as a part of a democratic party organization. Regular meetings where we can deliberate the issues of the day are a pillar of our democratic process where our sovereign membership sets the direction of our chapter for the following year.
