I’m in this race for my kids — and yours.
My wife Anna and I were proud to raise our three kids here in North Carolina. They all attended NC public schools — just like Anna and I did. I want your children and mine to have the opportunity to build their lives and futures in this state. But Mark Robinson’s far-right agenda is threatening that opportunity. He’s leveling attacks on women’s rights, LGBTQ+ people, public schools, our elections, and more. If we don’t fight back, Mark Robinson and the radical right wing’s backward policies will threaten business growth, drive away young North Carolinians, and jeopardize our state’s future. I’m also in this race for my parents.
Growing up, my parents impressed upon my brother, sister, and me that we had a duty to leave this world better than we found it. They lived by that principle themselves. My dad was a civil rights lawyer, a founding partner in North Carolina’s first integrated law firm. My mom was always extremely active in our community, working hard to make it better. They taught us by example to do what’s right, even when it’s tough — and that some things are worth fighting for no matter the opposition. To me, North Carolina’s future is ALWAYS worth fighting for. I know that North Carolina can be the best place to live, learn, work, and raise a family — but not if Mark Robinson gets his way. My parents, my kids, and every North Carolinian deserve a governor who will fight for them, not just for partisan ideology. But winning won’t be easy, and I am counting on your support today.
