BIG news about PFAS standards!
Hi John,
It’s been a big week for PFAS news!
Yesterday, Gov. Evers vetoed the pro-polluter PFAS bill that would have limited the DNR’s authority to hold polluters accountable. And today, the EPA just announced the first-ever federal drinking water standards for PFAS!
We know that any small amount of PFAS in the human body is highly toxic. These federal standards are a really big deal because they are more protective than Wisconsin’s current PFAS drinking water standards, and include a wider set of PFAS chemicals.
Today’s announcement underscores the need for Wisconsin-based action.

While this announcement of stronger standards is great news, we need to make sure that people who can't drink their water due to PFAS contamination can get access to clean drinking water.
Last year, $125 million from the state budget was allocated to PFAS remediation, but that money is still being held in a trust fund by Joint Finance Committee (JFC) members. Take action now by writing your legislator and asking them to urge the JFC to release these funds. >>> [[link removed]]
These communities can’t wait any longer. Write your legislator today >>> [[link removed]]
