John,

Tim Sheehy can’t seem to get his story straight.

He told a National Park Service ranger one story about a bullet wound — that an accidental discharge in a park hit him in the arm.

But on the campaign trail, he’s told audiences that the bullet in his arm is an old war wound.

What’s the truth, Tim?

Sheehy is a Republican running for Senate in Montana against Jon Tester. That’s one of the seats Democrats need to win to hold their majority in the Senate.

We didn’t think this story was getting anywhere near the amount of attention it deserved, especially back home in Montana. So we decided to spread the word ourselves. We produced our newest ad, “Self-Inflicted Wound” after this story broke, and today we went up with a $200,000 digital campaign in Montana.

We’re going to make sure that everyone in Montana knows about Sheehy’s shady story.
