We know commonsense gun laws such as banning assault weapons and instituting thorough background checks will save lives. Yet extreme politicians in Congress outright refuse to put our safety ahead of the gun lobby.
Nobody should EVER have to live in constant fear of gun violence when we possess the means to take meaningful action. But communities across the nation have been devastated by a wave of tragic mass shootings and preventable gun violence, including right here in New Hampshire.
I reject the notion that we are powerless against gun violence. That's why I'm calling on Congress to reinstate a federal assault weapons ban.
We need to protect our children, teachers, and communities from preventable gun violence. If you agree Congress needs to act, sign my petition today calling on Congress to remove weapons of war from our streets and ensure the safety of all Americans. >> [link removed]
Keeping our communities safe shouldn't be a partisan issue. New Hampshire lawmakers just proved this when they passed bipartisan legislation through the state house last month to close a dangerous background checks loophole.
Ensuring that weapons that are capable of mass destruction stay out of the hands of civilians is a necessary next step in combating the devastating rise of gun violence we've seen in our country. If you agree Congress needs to reinstate an assault weapons ban, please add your name today. >> [link removed]
