Hey there, it's Colin Allred, *the* Texas Democrat running to unseat extremist Ted Cruz in the Senate.

I've served in Congress for the past 5 years, and no day is more vivid in my memory than January 6, 2021.

That day I walked into Congress ready to certify the results of the 2020 Presidential Election, but instead, I was trapped in the House Chamber, preparing to defend myself and my colleagues against a violent mob storming the Capitol.

As they pounded on the doors, I texted my wife, Aly, who was seven months pregnant with our second child, "Whatever happens, I love you." Then I took off my jacket and got ready to fight off anyone who came through the door. Thankfully, because of the bravery of officers like Harry, the worst didn't happen and I got to meet my son, Cameron. Congress owes a large debt of gratitude to law enforcement officers for protecting every single one of us, regardless of our politics.

That's why I know Harry will make an amazing Congressman for Maryland. 

He'll protect reproductive rights, Social Security, and voting rights the same way he protected our democracy with his bare hands.

I'm beyond grateful to have won my primary election last month. And I was able to do it because of grassroots support from folks just chipping in $5 or $25 at a time.

So now that Harry's primary is in just a few weeks, I'm humbly asking you to rush a split donation to elect a hero to Congress and help me defeat Ted Cruz in Texas. We’re counting on your support to help us win our races.
