Dear
Friend,
Each year
on April 10th (4/10), the Green Party of the United States takes time
to reflect on the Four Pillars and Ten
Key Values. Together, they underpin the positions,
platform, and efforts of our party. This year we thought we'd ask a
few current green candidates about which of the key values spoke most
to them.
The Green
Party of the United States has always cultivated excellent candidates
that speak deeply to a wide range of people across age, gender, race,
and cultural lines.
"Grassroots Democracy is so important. I
believe, especially in today's high political atmosphere, it's
important to have candidates and leaders who are not bought out by
corporations. It is the only way to know that we have leaders whore
work for voters, not for corporations."
- Christina
Kahlil, Green Party Candidate for US Senate in
NJ

Our
candidates understand the near universal appeal of the Green Party's
message of People, Peace, and Planet.
"What the
world needs now is Peace, the fourth Pillar of the
Green Party. We also need new police policies, equipment and tactics
that de-escalate conflict and end fatalities. It is also past time to
de-schedule cannabis."
- Richard
L. Weiss, Green Party Candidate for PA Attorney
General

The Green
Party of the United States and our state party candidates help put
local issues in a broader national and global context.
"How could
I pick just one? All of our values and pillars are vital and true.
Yet, the answer is staring me in the face: Future Focus and
Sustainability. While some may pine for the perceived glories
of the past, full of its inequalities, rampart militarism, murder and
destruction and wanton planetary devastation, we look the children
squarely in their eyes and resolutely determine they will have a
future and we work tirelessly, in the face of powerfully armed
opposition to secure a real future for them. Key Value #10 is #1 for
me."
- Michael
Dublin, Green Party Candidate for NC's 2nd Congressional
District

Our
candidates stay focused on the long term for peace and planet, with
principled and consistent stances rooted in the Ten
Key Values.
“I
launched my congressional campaign a year ago today. Since then, my
team and I have worked hard every day to ensure a real choice for
voters in the upcoming election. Right now, we’re facing a global
crisis of conflict unlike any of us have experienced in our lifetime
with the genocide in Gaza, a genocide that is fundamentally supported
by both war machine parties. Gaza has further opened our eyes to other
regional conflicts of genocide and ethnic cleansing in Congo, in
Sudan, in Ethiopia, in Myanmar. As the conflict in Israel / Palestine
has expanded to Syria and Lebanon we are faced with the very real
prospect of clashes between nuclear armed nations. Now more than ever
we need leadership that will promote Cooperation and
Nonviolence. We cannot afford anything less. There is no way
to peace. Peace is the way.”
- Jason
Call, Green Party Candidate for WA's 2nd Congressional
District

Our
candidates represent the quiet majority of Americans who feel left out
by the parties of War and Wall Street.
"I stand
with all Americans in seeking Social Justice and
Ecological Wisdom for everyone in the Americas,
whether they be rich or poor. The intersectionality of the climate
crisis with so many other issues is part of what inspired me to run
for Texas Railroad Commissioner. As Greens we must advocate for new
policies while also changing minds and hearts. I want to advocate for
a healthy climate in every community across Texas, in English and in
Spanish."
- Eddie
Espinoza, Green Party Candidate for TX Railroad
Commissioner
