Everything you need to celebrate Palm
Sunday at Home
Join Us and Grow Closer
to Our Lord during this
Crisis
Dear Friend,
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under
trial,” says the Apostle James (1:12).
Yes, we are all being sorely tried during this time in which the
Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been suspended in a great number of
Dioceses around the world due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
This unfortunate series of events has affected even the Vatican,
where the Pope now gives his public audiences to a completely
empty St. Peter’s Square! This should fill every Catholic
with great sorrow!
Sadly, there will be NO public celebration of the Easter Triduum in
the Holy City of Rome – something that is unprecedented in the history
of the Church.
Is this not like a spiritual persecution of
sorts?
Ever since the end of Christian persecution by the Roman Empire in
the 4th century, the Easter Triduum has been publicly celebrated in
Rome for more than 1700 years in spite of war, invasion, famine, and
plagues...that is, until this coming Easter.
But remember: “Blessed is the
man who remains steadfast under trial”!
There is reason to maintain
our hope despite this present trial; the grace of the Holy Mass has
not been cancelled! Nor will it ever be until the end of
time.
And even though we are not able to physically attend Holy Mass,
that doesn't mean that our devotion to the Holy Sacrifice should
become lukewarm.
We may not be assembling together, but we remain united across our
homes and communities as one Body of Christ in communion with each
other and with God.
And for every trial there is always a creative faith response. What
can the average faithful Catholic do to remain strong in faith and
grow in holiness during the shutdown period?
Pray a Spiritual Communion with your family at
home: In times of crisis and persecution when Holy Communion
is not available, Catholics can receive Our Lord through the ancient
practice of Spiritual Communion.
This beautiful custom which has strengthened the hearts of ailing
Catholics for generations, has unfortunately been forgotten in recent
decades.
But you can bring it back and be empowered by Our Savior's loving
protection by taking advantage of our ready-made "Spiritual Communion
Service at Home" designed by our team of Faithful Priests.
While this is not a substitute for Mass, this is great way to
strengthen your personal domestic church, a term that refers
to the family, the smallest body of gathered believers in Christ.
During this time of crisis and as the world shifts from being in
the physical presence of the church community to a feeling of being
alone, our prayers for society and strong family bonds are more needed
than ever.
“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial”!
Our faith tells us that for every cross there is a crown. We can
draw something positive even from a pandemic and from our (temporary)
deprivation of the sacraments.
We can come together and unite in prayer and rediscover the joy of
family and building the domestic church.
The Spiritual Communion Service at Home is designed to be
distributed electronically on a weekly basis and printed out at home.
It has the proper USCCB permissions through April 15 at which time
reapplication will be made should there be a continued need.
PLEASE NOTE: During
Holy Week we will send you another Spiritual Communion
Service at Home to encompass the entire Sacred Triduum (Holy
Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday) so that you and your family may
celebrate the sacred feasts of the Catholic Faith in a meaningful way
even while not celebrating in your parish.
May Our Lady of the Rosary bless you and your loved ones now and
always!
