After the Arizona Supreme Court’s devastating ruling yesterday to uphold an 1864 near-total abortion ban, Democrats in the state House got to work this morning — hoping to force a vote to repeal that ban.

Instead, Republicans in the state legislature voted to recess. They had a chance to restore reproductive freedom, and they just walked away.

Let me be clear: Republicans’ inaction completely undermines the will of millions of Arizonans. Republican lawmakers might be ready to take a recess, but I’m never going to stop fighting to expand and enshrine the right to reproductive care for all Arizonans.
