Hi,
After Israel’s military killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers
delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, former Speaker of the House of
Representatives Nancy Pelosi joined 40 Democrats to urge President Biden
to halt weapons transfers to Israel and condition all security assistance
to Israel.^1
This is a major development in shifting politics around Israel in
Congress. Last week, one of Biden’s closest allies in the Senate, Senator
Chris Coons, also called for placing conditions on military assistance to
Israel for the very first time.^2
The atrocities in Gaza are too horrific for Democrats to hold onto their
status quo positions of the past when it comes to Israel. We must keep up
the pressure to demand all of Congress and President Biden hear what their
constituents and a growing number of Democratic lawmakers are saying.

can no longer support Netanyahu’s war in Gaza — stop sending weapons to
Israel now!

President Biden recently decided to send 3,800 more bombs to Israel,^3,4
even as Israel’s horrific war on Gaza has killed aid workers and over
30,000 civilians, and continues to block food and water from reaching the
Palestinian people.
“In light of this incident, we strongly urge you to reconsider your recent
decision to authorize the transfer of a new arms package to Israel,” the
letter from Pelosi and other Democrats to President Biden said.^5
It’s a moral failing AND a rebuke of international humanitarian law to
continue sending bombs to Netanyahu.
Hamas's attacks beginning on October 7 must be condemned, but Israel's
response has been disproportionate and taken an extraordinary civilian
toll for nearly six months.
Congress must take a stand to halt more weapons going to Israel. And
President Biden must immediately listen to the words of his Democratic
allies in Congress.
