John,
News networks are supposed to stand up for journalistic integrity, but now they find themselves at a crossroads: continue down a path of sensationalism and misinformation or take a stand for the truth.
With Rep. Elise Stefanik's refusal to commit to certifying the 2024 election results on 'Meet the Press,' followed by NBC News's controversial hiring (and subsequent reversal) of Ronna McDaniel, a known election denier, news networks are betraying a fundamental journalistic duty to the truth.
Election deniers, by their very nature, reject facts and undermine democratic principles. Their lies about election fraud and refusals to accept legitimate outcomes poison the well of public discourse, sowing doubt where there should be certainty.
Networks that provide election deniers a platform aren’t reporting the news, they are becoming complicit in a campaign against democracy itself.
Sign the petition to news networks: Do not give election deniers a platform.
The responsibility to uphold the truth and protect the pillars of our democracy cannot be taken lightly.
If we allow lies and misinformation to go unchecked on national platforms, we risk more than just misinformed debates, we risk the very foundation of our democratic system as we edge closer to the 2024 general election.
The bottom line is that news networks have a responsibility to the viewers, to the truth, and to the democratic institutions that rely on an informed electorate.
Tell News networks to not give election deniers a platform to spread their falsehoods. It's not a matter of censorship, it's a matter of responsibility.
Together, we can push back against the tide of misinformation and ensure our nation's future is guided by truth, not lies.
