NARAL Pro-Choice America recently changed its name to Reproductive Freedom for All. Our name may be new, but our mission of protecting and expanding reproductive freedom remains the same.
Hi John,
In two weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear a case that could majorly impact emergency abortion care in states throughout the country.
The case is about the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), a nearly 40-year-old federal law that makes sure people can access the emergency medical care they need. But now, anti-abortion extremists are attempting to argue that EMTALA should no longer apply to emergency abortion care in states that have abortion bans in place—no matter the consequences to someone's health or life.
Let us be clear: No one should decide what medical care a pregnant person needs besides them and their doctor. But now Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and the other Supreme Court justices who overturned Roe v. Wade are doing exactly that.
Will you join us in calling for court reform, including at the Supreme Court?
This is all part of the larger anti-abortion strategy. Stacking federal courts with anti-abortion extremists has been part of the GOP's game plan for decades. Now, despite the fact that 8 in 10 Americans support the legal right to abortion, anti-abortion extremists can rely on the courts to enforce their dangerous and extreme agenda.
We're preparing to respond no matter what the Supreme Court decides in this case. But it's not enough to be reactive to bad decisions—we need to proactively fight for court reform. And we need to elect reproductive freedom champions up and down the ballot to make sure fair-minded judges are appointed and confirmed to courts across the country.
We can do it—with your help. Add your name now to join us in calling for court reform.
Thank you for being with us,
Team Repro for All
NARAL Pro-Choice America is now Reproductive Freedom for All. Our name has changed, but our mission remains the same: protecting and advancing freedom for everybody.
