Science Panel to discuss the development of the 2025-2029 Science Work Plan

The Puget Sound Partnership Science Panel will meet online on Thursday, April 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Meeting highlights include:
* A presentation and discussion about the Science Work Plan. The Science Work Plan, one of the Science Panel's primary products, identifies priority science work actions and broader recommendations for improving ongoing science. This session will include discussion about the development of the Science Work Plan for 2025-2029, including approaches to writing science work actions and identifying broader recommendations. Presentation by Katherine Wyatt, assistant science director at the Puget Sound Partnership; Scott Redman, Science and Evaluation program director at the Puget Sound Partnership.
* A presentation and discussion about the Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program's strategic plan. The Puget Sound Ecosystem Monitoring Program (PSEMP) is a collaborative network of individuals and organizations dedicated to monitoring a range of topics to support a healthy, resilient Puget Sound. The PSEMP strategic plan [ [link removed] ] outlines PSEMP's mission, goals, and primary actions for 2024-2028. Science Panel members will learn about and discuss the plan [ [link removed] ], including an overview of draft goal and strategic actions. Presentation by Katrina Radich, PSEMP manager at the Puget Sound Partnership.?
* A presentation and decision about the Salmon Recovery Plan Addendum. The Salmon Recovery Plan Addendum will guide the Puget Sound regional salmon recovery organization's salmon recovery actions over the next ten years. Science Panel members will learn about the Salmon Recovery Plan Addendum and discuss their role in supporting specific actions related to the science and monitoring in the addendum. Presentation by Melissa Speeg, salmon recovery manager at the Puget Sound Partnership, Ashley Bagley, salmon policy advisor at the Puget Sound Partnership, and Annelise Del Rio, salmon scientist at the Puget Sound Partnership.
* A presentation and discussion on the Marine Water Quality Implementation Strategy. Staff will provide an update on the status of the Marine Water Quality State of Knowledge and Base Program Analysis peer review. Science Panel members will also learn and discuss the results from the external Model Evaluation Group. Presentation by Joel Baker, director of the Puget Sound Institute.?
