Hi John,

Donald Trump released a video this week proudly taking credit for being the one to overturn Roe v. Wade.

By now, we all know exactly what Trump and my opponent, John Carter, intend if Republicans take control of Congress and the White House. They'll pass federal legislation to outlaw abortion in our country completely.

As Texans, we already know what it’s like to live in a state without reproductive freedom. Thanks to Trump and his cronies, more than 1 in 3 women in America now lives under an abortion ban, with more on the way. Just yesterday, Arizona rolled back their abortion legislation to 1864, resurrecting a “Zombie Law” that predates Arizona statehood.

But Trump and his enablers in Congress aren’t going to stop — not even if they do successfully enforce a total abortion ban nationwide. 

If far-right extremists win the majority in Congress and the presidency, MAGA Republicans will also outlaw birth control and fertility treatments like IVF across the country. No state, or city, or tiny neck of the woods will be safe from the Republican’s draconian agenda. And no American family will ever be the same again. 

I’m a proud IVF-parent myself — I know exactly what’s at stake this election, for all of us. 

And my stance on reproductive freedom is a big reason why the largest anti-MAGA parent coalition, Mothers For Democracy, just endorsed our campaign.

I won’t stop fighting the GOP's all-out assault on women and I’ll always defend reproductive freedom — no matter how much it angers anti-abortion extremists like my opponent.

Why? Our district, Texas 31, is one of just a handful where Republicans are seriously worried about their chances, and where Democrats have an advantage when it comes to regaining control of the U.S House. 

John Carter is far out of step with the majority of folks here, and national Republicans know it too. If we’re successful in unseating John Carter, our race may be enough, in and of itself, to defeat the GOP’s already razor thin majority in Congress. 

Republicans have already committed to spending millions in battleground races like mine. They’ll do everything in their power to ensure John Carter doesn't lose his seat to a pro-choice Democrat like me. We cannot let their big money defeat us.
