Coronavirus Emergency Appeal Dear John, I hope you and your loved ones are well and staying safe during these trying times. As we isolate ourselves physically, I’d like to ask you to stand together with people across the world to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Health Poverty Action is working with communities on the front lines in Africa, Asia and Central America to respond to the coronavirus pandemic. But it’s becoming increasingly difficult to raise sufficient funds to support the most vulnerable people. Given the unprecedented scale of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, and the effect it’s having on communities and health across the world, we are urgently asking our friends and supporters to spread the word and contribute whatever you can at this critical time. We know the communities we work alongside well and we're wasting no time protecting those at risk. Our colleagues are at borders testing people and providing equipment, but we’re also working with some of the most isolated communities to ensure they know how to protect themselves and their families. This will help to prevent the virus from spreading in the short-term, but we also need to hold our leaders to account to make lasting change for those forced into poverty around the world. As thousands come together to support our NHS, we can’t leave behind the people living in countries shortchanged by governments and institutions that have prioritised the pursuit of profit over our collective wellbeing. Please give whatever you can today to our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal and help people across the world come together to protect health for all: • £7 could pay for soap and sanitizer for a hospital hand-washing station |
