John,
Huge and exciting news: The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) was just introduced in the House!
KOSA has been working its way through the Senate for many months and, thanks to your help, has gained 67 bipartisan co-sponsors. Clearly there's broad support for the legislation on the Hill, which mirrors what we’ve heard from voters across the political spectrum, nearly 90% of whom said they support KOSA.
Now, with the introduction of a House companion, there’s even more momentum for this critical piece of legislation that would help bolster kids’ safety online, addressing the harmful social media business model by placing the health and well-being of minor users over advertising revenue.
You, the Issue One community, have been vital to the positive movement KOSA has seen in the Senate. We’re going to need your help to continue moving the ball forward on that version, and we’ll be in touch soon for ways you can help us build support for the newly introduced House version.
In the meantime, check out Issue One’s statement issued in response to the big news!
Thanks for all your support,
