*Water Quality Forum Set to Address Local Surface & Groundwater Topics*

To bolster awareness and foster community engagement in safeguarding our water resources, the Ottawa County Water Resources Commissioner, Joe Bush, has announced the Eighteenth Annual Water Quality Forum. Taking place on April 12, this forum delves into critical issues surrounding groundwater protection, nonpoint source pollution, drinking water quality, and provide updates on county drain management. Registration is open [ [link removed] ] and space is limited.

The forum will feature a lineup of conservation professionals and representatives from local agencies to discuss initiatives aimed at the challenges facing our water systems. Attendees can expect informative presentations as well as the opportunity to interact with exhibits and network.

A few of the topics to be covered include:


* Going Native: Sustainable Landscaping for Ottawa County by Matt Chappuies and Kylie Vosburg from Ottawa County?s Department of Strategic Impact
* We All Live Downstream - Nonpoint Source Pollution Issues in Ottawa County by Ben Jordan and Sarah Bowman from the Ottawa Conservation District
* Local Drinking Water Quality and the Imperative of Conservation by Nate Johnson of the Holland Board of Public Works
* Celebrating 10 Years of Project Quality by Dan Callam and Kelly Goward from the ODC Network
* A Discussion on Predicting West Michigan?s Weather by Meteorologist Ellen Bacca of WoodTV8

The Water Quality Forum is open to all members of the community, including citizens, students, professionals, and local officials. Light breakfast will be provided, as well as a taco bar from Catered Creations for lunch.
