Look at my record since I was first sworn in Jan. 10, 2018: Medicaid expansion to 700,000+ people. Teacher pay raises every single budget cycle. Millions for transportation improvements. Hundreds of thousands of more kids eating for free every day at school. Taking care of the most vulnerable Virginians. I’m good at what I do and your support has made that possible.
As for what my bills we passed this year will do: - Three continue our work of reforming the court-appointed adult guardianship system to protect incapacitated adults. (SBs 290, 291 and 292)
- Two more help feed hungry kids. (SBs 283 and 314)
- Two that help with government accountability. (SB 321 and 324)
- Two deal with the life cycle: one to cut red tape for military families adopting children (SB 325) and one to allow interment rights for kin of people buried in family cemeteries located on private property. (SB 281)
- One will help improve safety on our roads. (SB 336)
Meanwhile, my multimodal Route 28 STARS project for innovative intersection designs is eligible for $40 million of more funding this spring from the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority on top of the $24.5 million we’ve already received for it.
In short, I hope we have a positive message for you at a time of so much negativity. We run for office to deliver results and, because of your help, I’m getting the job done. Thank you so much for everything. It’s time to get the word out, so let’s keep it going!
Warmly, Danica
