Mexico's historic glyphosate ban has been axed at the last minute to
appease agrochemical industry interests.
We can't let Bayer & co. win again.
Tell President López Obrador: hold strong and BAN GLYPHOSATE!

John,
Mexico was planning to ban cancer-causing glyphosate on April 1.
But after a huge lobbying effort by US officials and agrochemical giants,
Mexico’s president just reversed the ban.
This isn't a Mexico-only problem -- governments everywhere are at risk of
caving to the pesticides industry, just as President López Obrador has
done.
More than ever we must stand up to these profit-hungry companies and
demand a ban on toxic chemicals. Add your name to the petition and share
this widely:

Mexico’s president decreed in 2020 to phase out glyphosate by 2024,
following years of campaigning by small farmers and Native communities.
But now he’s reversed course at the very last minute saying the
agriculture industry doesn’t have a good alternative to glyphosate.
The truth is, seven million hectares of land are already cultivated
chemical pesticide-free in Mexico. This isn’t about alternatives, this is
about bowing to US pressure and continuing to enrich the coffers of Big Ag
CEOs.
Glyphosate-maker Bayer-Monsanto is mired in US lawsuits claiming its
pesticides caused cancer to thousands of gardeners and farmers. Bayer
keeps fighting cancer victims in court for every last penny, but also
stopped selling glyphosate-based weedkiller to the general public in the
US last year -- not what you'd expect if it's as safe as the company
claims!
We can still turn this around.
Together we helped stop cancer-causing Chlorothalonil from being approved
in Costa Rica – we can do the same and get glyphosate banned in Mexico.
