Dear John,

The world knows Iran almost entirely by its brutal regime, having one of the worst human rights rankings on the planet (one 2023 report ranks them dead last).

But believe it or not, there’s a freedom movement in Iran, and it’s growing.

Atlas Network has collaborated with local leaders, training them on how to effectively advocate for freedom and grow their support, even in the face of opposition from their authoritarian government.

These leaders eventually had to take a decentralized approach to evade the regime, but they’ve succeeded in publishing their writings in magazines and newspapers, as well as organizing new groups and events.

Atlas Network worked very closely with Iranian public policy scholar Mohamad Machine-Chian, who eventually had to relocate to the University of Pittsburgh to avoid political persecution and threats to his life.

You can read more about Mr. Machine-Chian’s work in Iran by checking out his guest article in our recent issue of Freedom’s Champion magazine.

(If you haven’t subscribed yet, the digital version of the magazine is 100% free.)

Because Iran’s regime is a source of so many problems in the world today, there’s no telling how impactful it could be for the Middle East—and the entire globe—if the local freedom movement succeeds.

If freedom-loving Iranians can assert their true voice, they have the potential to not only reshape their own country’s future, but also serve as the model for bringing lasting freedom to the people of the Middle East.

Please check out Mr. Machine-Chian’s article in Freedom’s Champion to learn more about the liberty movement in Iran.

All my best,

Kam
