Port Orchard, Wash. -? Last night's public hearing on the Kitsap County Comprehensive Plan update drew approximately 150 people through a combination of in-person and online attendance. Residents provided valuable insights on important topics like housing, the environment, parks and open space, facilities, transportation, and more.
"We're deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to last night's hearing," stated Deputy County Administrator Eric Baker. "Your input is invaluable as we shape policies for sustainable growth that reflect the needs and aspirations of our community."
The 2024 Comprehensive Plan update will determine how the County manages growth and what its direction will be for the next 20 years across policies, zoning, and departmental regulations as well as planning-level environmental impacts and capital facilities reviews.

To accommodate further input and public engagement, the Board of Commissioners has extended the written comment period. Residents can submit written testimony from now through Thursday, April 11 at 4:30 p.m. Comments can be emailed, sent via regular mail to 614 Division Street MS-36, Port Orchard, WA 98366, or submitted through the comment form on the Comprehensive Plan webpage.
