Spring is here, and with a change in the seasons comes spring cleaning. We’re getting rid of clutter, taking out the trash, and scrubbing those hard-to-reach areas.
As we’re getting in the mood to clean house, let’s not forget about the bold and brazen challenges to our rights coming from anti-voter lawmakers. They’re pushing through legislation that complicates the voting process and elevates the power of election deniers — but we see right through them and their MAGA tactics.
We’re calling out these bad actors so we can sweep away their attacks and protect the freedom to vote:
Max Burns has a history of pushing voter suppression bills, including sponsoring SB 189. These attacks on voting rights disenfranchise Georgia's most vulnerable communities and are a clear strike against democracy.
Lt. Governor Burt Jones has been making it harder for Georgians to vote and he shows no signs of stopping. As the president of Georgia’s state senate, he’s supported legislation that attacks voting rights.
And what hasn’t Governor Brian Kemp done? He signed bills to impose burdensome voter ID requirements, criminalize handing out food and water to voters in line, permit mass voter challenges, and target hardworking county officials while denying them desperately needed election funds. We see him as the chief architect of modern-day voter suppression.
As we continue to push back against voter suppression attempts and the policymakers who want to make it harder for Black and brown people to vote, we need the resources to train staff, get information into the hands of our community, and keep our programs running. We need you, friends, to support this work. Chip in any amount to play an important role in protecting our democracy and help Fair Fight clean house!
Thank you for making our work possible.
