Dear MoveOn member,
The Robert Kennedy Jr. presidential campaign just called out MoveOn by name—falsely accusing us of sending fake, paid protesters to their campaign events.1 And we need your help to fight back.
We will explain the urgent situation below, but first, please help us fight back. Will you donate $5 a month to help MoveOn take on these lies from Kennedy's campaign and do everything it takes in the months to come to stop his third-party spoiler threat from installing Donald Trump in the White House in 2024?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
MoveOn did not send fake protesters to any events, not now and not ever. We have been—and always will be—honest and clear about our work of defending democracy, fighting for progress, and building a country that works for all of us.
MoveOn's efforts are working to educate voters about Kennedy's support for a national abortion ban, his long history of spreading conspiracy theories, and the reality that his campaign—which has significant support among young voters in particular—could throw the presidential election to Donald Trump, and that's why Kennedy is attacking us.2,3 No Labels attacked us in the same way. But we didn't back down then, and we won't back down now.
MoveOn is under attack from Kennedy and his MAGA-supporter-backed spin machine. Will you donate $5 a month to help MoveOn take on Kennedy's lies—and keep up the fight for as long as it takes to stop his third-party spoiler threat that could throw the 2024 election to Donald Trump?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
The Kennedy campaign's absolutely false accusations about MoveOn are just the latest lies from his campaign.
Kennedy's history of spreading tin-foil-hat conspiracy theories is well established. Kennedy is a proud anti-vaxxer who says vaccines cause autism.4 He says that Wi-Fi causes cancer, that antidepressants cause school shootings, that COVID-19 vaccines are dangerous and ineffective, and that chemicals in the water cause children to transition genders.5,6,7
Last week, Kennedy questioned whether there was a "true insurrection" on January 6 and whether the violent insurrectionists had weapons—though we all saw those weapons with our own eyes in photos and on the news.8
He's even been on Infowars, the web show hosted by Alex Jones, the hateful, debunked conspiracy theorist who for years called the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school shooting a hoax, terrorizing the families who lost their children in the shooting.9
And now, his vice presidential running mate is Nicole Shanahan—the ex-wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin—who has called IVF "one of the biggest lies" and has also spread anti-science conspiracy theories.10 Unfortunately, she now brings the campaign the ability to pour virtually unlimited funds into promoting this campaign of lies, conspiracy theories, and misinformation.11
These accusations against MoveOn are absolutely false, and we need to fight back. Please chip in $5 a month to help MoveOn take on Kennedy's lies, fight back against third-party spoilers, and defeat the MAGA movement and their allies this November.
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
Last week, after a long, hard-fought effort by MoveOn and our pro-democracy allies, the dark-money-backed No Labels bowed out of the presidential race.12
Like No Labels, it is mathematically impossible for Kennedy to win the Electoral College and therefore the presidency. But he can throw the election to Trump.13 One of Kennedy's campaign officials even admitted that blocking President Biden's reelection is her "No. 1 priority."14
MoveOn's sustained public pressure and accountability campaign ultimately helped get No Labels to drop out of the race, and we will not rest until Kennedy withdraws from the race too. So it's no surprise that Kennedy and his campaign staff are concerned that we've turned our attention to them.
On Friday, MoveOn's executive director spoke on MSNBC about why Kennedy must end his campaign and do the right thing for democracy, giving this solemn warning: "The only pathway a third-party candidate has in the United States at the presidential level is to actually serve as a spoiler, and in 2024 we are incredibly worried that Robert Kennedy will actually swing the election to Donald Trump, and nobody in this country needs to have that again."15
The fact is, withdrawing is the right thing to do, unless his sole goal is to elect Trump. And if he won't withdraw, then MoveOn will do everything we can to ensure that young voters understand that Kennedy supports a national abortion ban; that in addition to his dangerous conspiracy theories, he is a threat to democracy; that he is buddy-buddy with Trump; and that he is in the race to throw the election to Trump.
MoveOn has a plan to stop Robert Kennedy Jr. from spoiling the election and throwing it to Trump. But we need your sustained support to pull it off. Will you donate $5 a month?
No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
Data shows that 2016 will surely repeat itself if third-party spoilers like Kennedy do not step aside or cannot be marginalized with voters. With your help, we will make sure that the Kennedy campaign does not pick up steam.
Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? The MAGA movement's book bans have forced teachers and librarians across the country to remove books from their shelves and censor what young people can learn. MoveOn is fighting back, including by filling a "Banned Bookmobile" with books that the far right has banned and driving it to key cities and towns to raise the visibility of book bans, hand out banned books for free, and bring people together to stop censorship. To keep up the fight against book bans and the MAGA politicians who support them, we need your help.
Will you start a monthly gift to power and sustain MoveOn's critical work?
