* Right-wing conspiracy theorists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman will pay ([link removed]) up to $1.25 million for their role in a robocall scheme that spread disinformation about the 2020 election to Black voters, New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) announced.
* The recount for a Shasta County, California board of supervisors election was canceled ([link removed]) after the Mike-Lindell endorsed candidate did not pay the over $8,000 necessary to start the recount, but stated that she plans to move forward with the lawsuit.
* U.S. Rep. Wiley Nickel (D-N.C.) introduced ([link removed]) federal legislation to fight partisan gerrymandering by establishing independent, nonpartisan redistricting commissions in every state to draw congressional maps.
* Special prosecutor Jack Smith filed ([link removed]) his response brief in the U.S. Supreme Court in the Washington, D.C. election subversion case in which former President Donald Trump is claiming presidential immunity. Smith argues that Trump lacks absolute immunity from federal prosecution.
* The U.S. Department of Justice is defending ([link removed]) the constitutionality and private enforcement of the Voting Rights Act from dangerous legal arguments by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) in a lawsuit over the state's congressional and legislative districts.
