John – The Colorado GOP state assembly happened a few days ago, and it was wild.

First they called a sheriff’s deputy to kick a local politics reporter for the Colorado Sun out of the assembly, claiming her coverage is “very unfair.”

Then Matt Gaetz showed up as the keynote speaker, marched triumphantly onto the stage with Lauren Boebert and declared: “This is Donald Trump’s party, and I am a Donald Trump Republican!”

When it came time for delegates to vote for their picks for the 4th district, ALL the Republican party leadership lined right up behind Boebert – and virtually guaranteed she will be their nominee.

I knew from the moment she carpet-bagged her way into our district that Lauren Boebert would be the candidate we have to beat in November. This weekend proved me right.

This is where we are right now: MAGA Republicans have planted their flag in the 4th district, and our campaign stands in the gap.

We’ve raised over a million dollars to flip this seat, and I’m already polling 7 points ahead of Boebert in a head-to-head matchup.

None of what we saw this weekend surprised me, but it should alarm all of us. Colorado Republicans are carrying on Trump’s tradition of attacking the free press and demanding loyalty to their most extreme members.

I’ve said before that Lauren Boebert is a threat to American democracy. But the good news is that she is going to LOSE this race when I become the Democratic nominee.
